Phil Spencer: The Return of Xbox Live Arcade on Xbox One is not expected

Only One Xbox owners have noticed that the Xbox Live Arcade had disappeared during the transition to the new generation. In fact, games such as Crimson Dragon or Killer Instinct would have found their place on Xbox 360, but do not fit into any category except the online market of XOne.

This mysterious disappearance has alarmed some members of the community, including one BobFTW, who went to ask for explanations directly on the Twitter account of Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer.

  1. @XboxP3 Any chance XBLA will return? Marketplace lost its character. So many people loved 360 just for Arcade.
@BobFTW14 I feel like when ID@XBOX gets rolling it will fill the gap that XBLA filled on 360. If it doesn't I'm up for return of XBLA.

Thus, the program ID @ Xbox which is required to replace the Xbox Live Arcade. And even if the consumer will be little differences, they are for developers. Indeed, they can now autopublier DLC or when updates are ready, but especially the program offers more visibility for small than for large studios, a problem much maligned on Xbox 360. Visibility seems to be the concern of BobFTW who would like games to be cataloged into categories again, even they have a banner similar to the orange surmounting the virtual covers of Xbox Live Arcade games on the older generation .

  1. @XboxP3 You say all the right things :P Maybe just make an ID@XBOX banner for those games? Similar to the orange "arcade" banners on 360?
@BobFTW14 I like all games equal but I also think people will want to know what's ID, having a place in store or a ID tag could make sense.

Catalog games on the online store makes some less visible, and this is what happened with the indie games that had disappeared into the limbo of Xbox Live for Xbox 360. It will take Microsoft seriously considering the issue so that the concern does not arise again when the first games ID @ Xbox arrive and especially when they become numerous.
