Xbox One: Phil Spencer discusses the new game from Rare

Rare is currently working on a new title for Xbox One. And it seems that the studio this time let the Kinect aside to focus on a more traditional experience.

Studio to resume full of cult games, Rare has in recent years been tasked to develop titles using Kinect. With more or less success. Seduction full of players and the desire expressed by them to see Rare develop games operation "old" Microsoft has entrusted the development of a new title in the British studio.

Since the development of this unique game Rare was revealed to the public, Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division at Microsoft, regularly receives questions about him on his personal Twitter account. And the fact that he recently attended a presentation of the internal title did not help.

If he can not yet reveal what it is really matter for now, the head honcho of the Xbox brand was keen to prove he is a title in the purest tradition of Rare:

  1. @XboxP3 Ready to tell us that Rare game yet Phil. Pretty please ;c
@DabuzaRanks I'll say this, Gregg Mayles was the one presenting the game. If you know Rare, you know Gregg is true Rareware.

The use of Rareware mark is not trivial. The studio actually used that name during his heyday, namely where it produced games exclusively for Nintendo consoles. Regarding Gregg Mayles, there is again something reassuring longtime fans of the studio. Current creative director of Rare, Gregg Mayles is none other than the designer of Donkey Kong Country (and the creator of Diddy Kong) and the creator of Banjo-Kazooie (among others).

It remains to be seen whether we are talking about the return of an existing series or a new license. Knowing that Microsoft recently introduced the brand Battletoads and that it was a game developed by Rare, it does not seem far-fetched to imagine that the studio is working on the return of the famous frogs. And even if the information about the title are currently very few, the early signs are encouraging.
