Ed Fries (co-creator of the Xbox) knows how the Xbox One can beat the PS4

Vice President of the Games publishing at Microsoft until January 2004, Ed Fries is originally from the entrance of the giant market with the first Xbox console. It is therefore interesting to listen to it when deciding on the duel between the Xbox One and the PS4. For him, nothing is still played and the Xbox One still has assets to enforce.

The PS4 is head of worldwide sales since its release last November. For Ed Fries, the Xbox One will not surpass the last console Sony by offering games and services even surpassing those of the competition:

They need better games exclusive than the PS4. They need to be more open to independent developers. They need to adopt the free-to-play more aggressively. They need to push the Xbox Live as the first online service. They need to show people why they have included Kinect on each console in demonstrating a convincing for this device.

If numerous video game figures declare themselves very enthusiastic regarding the arrival of virtual reality technology, Ed Fries shows him much more sceptical regarding:

I'm not sure of what prepares Microsoft. I hear rumors about all kinds of cool stuff but does that come out someday? After so spectacular failure of 3D on TV in recent years, I'm a little skeptical about virtual reality, in relation to the consumer market, but for players more hardcore, who knows? Maybe it will work and will bring new experiences.

The general public is quite different. Given the lack of success that have had business with the TV requiring 3D glasses, I am skeptical about the idea that casual players put this stuff on their faces anytime soon.
