Standard Xbox Wireless Controllers : Button Remapping Now Available

With the new Xbox One Experience, Xbox team have added button remapping capability for standard Xbox One controllers through the new Xbox Accessories App. This allows each user on the console can have their own custom button mapping instead of remapping buttons on an individual game basis.
Standard controller remapping can be accessed in three ways through the New Xbox One Experience:
  1. Settings / Kinect & Devices / Devices & Accessories
  2. Settings / Ease of access / Button mapping
  3. Launch the Xbox Accessories app directly
For standard controllers, you can now swap button pairs. For example, if you choose to map LB to X, then X is automatically mapped to LB. This maintains that all buttons are always mapped on a standard controller. You can do multiple button swaps in sequence to move button commands to where you want them to be on the controller.  When buttons are remapped on a standard controller, the remapping is not transferrable to other consoles. In other words, if you move to another console, you’ll need to go through the remapping process again with that new console. Remapping is available for both first party wireless and third party wired controllers. Remapping for standard controllers is available for Xbox One consoles only, with PC support to be confirmed at a later time.
For the Elite controller, the only required buttons that need to be mapped somewhere on the controller are A and B.  Another unique remapping feature for the Elite Controller is that you can have multiple buttons mapped to the same function (e.g. multiple physical buttons or paddles can be mapped to X). Remapped settings are stored directly on Elite controller, so you can bring your custom settings to another console or PC.
On consoles, the Xbox Accessories app notifies users if their controller has an optional or mandatory firmware update. On the PC, the recently updated Xbox Accessories app can now be used to update the firmware on your standard controller, Elite controller, or Chatpad.

Rolling out :The New Xbox One Experience

As promised, the New Xbox One Experience is now rolling out worldwide, although it won't hit every console at once. It should be available for everyone by the end of the day, however.

If you keep your Xbox One in the instant-on power mode, the update will download automatically. Otherwise, you'll need to enter the System part of the Settings menu to check for availability. Early reviews of the Windows 10-based interface suggest it's much faster than the previous Xbox One menu system, and it'll be a sight for sore eyes for anyone who hated the chunky boxes from before.
Of course, one of the biggest additions is Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, and 104 games are playable now, with a full list available here. More will be added starting in December, with favourites like Call of Duty: Black Ops, BioShock Infinite, and Halo Reach all promised at some point.

Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller Ups the Challenge

Xbox One Elite's Wireless controller has once again established Microsoft's dominance in terms of game console controller creation.
After Sony released the Playstation 4's DualShock 4 controller, users finally found a clear game changer for the rivalry in terms of which console had a better controller, says Pocket Lint. However, just as Xbox Elite's wireless controller came out, all of a sudden, Xbox One has once again gained supremacy as having the better console controller.
The Elite version of the controller comes in a more pronounced rumble in the triggers, grippier surfaces along the handle, the A, B, X and Y buttons do not follow the usual Xbox one controller color scheme and it is customisable.
The Xbox One Elite bundle was launched by Microsoft with a tag price of $499. The premium console comes with more exclusive titles such as Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of Tomb Raide and Forza Motorsport, according to the Xbox official website. The Xbox One Elite console comes with a 1 terabyte solid state hybrid drive, sleeker faster wireless controller, a controller carrying case and extra storage for Xbox 360 games.
According to Gamestop, Xbox aims to appeal to the more than just the mainstream gamer by making nearly every aspect of the controller customizable. Gamers can conveniently take off the magnetic d-pad and sticks off the face of the controller, and change them with different ones.

The Xbox Accessories app also allows users to customize the controller's configuration. Moreover, the app comes with some pre-loaded configurations that owners of the controller can choose from. With the flip of Hair Trigger Locks, users can fire much faster as the locks stop the trigger movement after the shot and give more time to fire the next shot.
The Xbox One Elite controller can also be purchased separately for 149.99 dollars, which is a pretty hefty price to pay, but one that gamers will be willing to shell out for the precision and design it proves.
